FD&S Represents Cody's Books in Debt Sale and Restructure

Ellen Friedman, Andrea Porter and Derrick Hansen represented Cody's Books, the venerable Berkeley-based independent bookseller, in the restructure of its real estate leases and the sale of the business to Yohan, Inc., a Japanese independent book distributor. In connection with the efforts, Cody's closed its original store on Telegraph Avenue near UC Berkeley, and will continue to operate its stores on Fourth Street in Berkeley and in Union Square, San Francisco.
